Homemade Body Care Products

Eating healthy and balanced diet is good for body but it is also important to take care of our body externally. We spend thousands on body products, especially women who never think twice before buying best body care products for themselves. It is good to take good care of your body, as it’s the only place you have to live in.

From lotions to soaps to body lotion, mist, etc, we always prefer buying the best one for ourselves. But due to reasons like cost, skin sensitivity, availability, chemicals and alcohol in these products some of us hesitate to use one. It is important to use body products for young skin at least after your 20s, so without any fear make one for yourself.

Here are some easy and natural ways of making body care products for day to day use.

Homemade body lotion :

All you need

  • ¼ cup each of coconut oil, olive oil and distilled water
  • 2 tablespoons grated beeswax
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Let’s start

  • Take a glass container and add baking soda and wait till it get dissolved.
  • Now take another container and add both – the oils and beeswax and then place that glass in a pan of water.
  • Heat it on the moderate heat until it gets melted and stir occasionally.
  • In the other pan boil baking soda water. Then slowly add the soda mix into the oil and beeswax mix, and stir briskly.
  • Keep the mix aside and let it cool, it will thicken as it cools. Then pour it into a jar when it is still warm and pourable.

Homemade body wash :

All you need

  • ½ cup liquid castile soap
  • ¼ cup each of coconut oil and raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin E
  • 15 drops essential oil eucalyptus
  • 10 drops each of orange and lemon or grapefruit essential oil

Let’s start

  • Melt coconut oil in microwave or in pan, then add honey, essential oil and vitamin E, and whisk together.
  • Now slowly add liquid castile soap and stir to prevent creating of studs.
  • Then put into a glass or plastic bottle and shake before every use.

Homemade body butter :

All you need

  • 1 cup shea butter, organic, raw and solid
  • ½ cup each of almond oil (liquid) and coconut oil (solid)

Let’s start

  • Take a double boiler and melt shea butter and coconut oil.
  • Remove from burner and let it cool for 20-30 minutes and then add almond oil. You can also add essential oil if you want.
  • Mix it well and place it in a freezer to chill.
  • When it becomes partially solid, then whip until you get consistency like butter.
  • Put it in a glass jar and use daily for soft and smooth skin.

Homemade bubble bath :

All you need

  • 1 cup dish soap, unscented
  • 2/3 cup glycerin, liquid
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 15-20 drops of essential oil, of your choice

Let’s start

  • Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients gently. And the put it into a plastic or glass bottle and it is ready to use.
